RIWA HOUSSAMI
actress, dancer

Riwa Houssami (b. 1997, Beirut) is a theatre and performing arts graduate from the Lebanese University. She has an extensive experience backstage as stage director, sound and light operator, set design team, assistant light design, house manager and technical director.  She was assistant director for LES JUSTES  and AL ZIFAF by director Caroline Hatem.

She’s performed in a dozen plays among which LIMAZA? directed by Lina Khoury, TORRA NAKCHE directed by Camille Salameh and HAMLET MACHINE directed by Lena Osseyran.

 Riwa participated in a few film productions, mostly student films like PIECE OF TIME by Jo-Ann Matta and AL SOBEH AHLA MAANA by Hanan Abi Khalil as well as in four music videos.

In 2019, Riwa directed her first play, an adaptation of WHOS’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? by Edward Albee (Abraj Theatre).

A trained gymnast of ten years, Riwa has entered the clowning world, and is a member of the Clown Me In team is Lebanon.
