WALID ABDELNOUR
Filmmaker, video artist

Walid Abdelnour (born 1980) is a Lebanese filmmaker and video maker living in Beirut. He holds a Masters from Sorbonne University Paris 1 in Cinema Studies (2008) and a BA in video art from USEK (Saint-Esprit University, Kaslik, Lebanon). 

 His first feature-length documentary MEN HEBBA WA DEBB (Lebanon by Night) about the illegal curfew imposed on foreign workers in Lebanon was completed in September 2025.

He created the video content for LE CRITÈRE DE GRIFFITH, a multimedia theatre performance by Danielle Labaki (STATION Beirut, 2015).

 He also collaborated with Cristina Ghinassi on the Ehdenya Project both in Lebanon and Malta. In the last few years he worked in Egypt with Mada Masr (a news website) on creating a visual identity, training members on video production as well as producing original content.

He directed a short fiction film with Camille Brunel, ROSALIND, and his videodance featuring Mayssan Charafeddine, THE CROSSING, was selected in the Ciné-Corps Rennes Travelling Festival in 2019.

Walid is co-founder of YAZAN, a platform for artists and art practitioners offering intensive training programs, resources and support for their projects while favouring decentralisation and sustainability through touring and network.
