JAMES CHEHAB
Film Director, Cinematographer, Theater Light designer & Technical director
James Chehab earned his Master’s degree in Cinema Studies at the Saint Joseph University in Beirut – IESAV in 2021. After his short film : The trials of a fairly intelligent imbecile (2018), he directed and filmed his first feature fiction :The adventures of a mother and her daughters on their quest for the meaning of life and other important things (2021) which won Best Director Award at the Zurich Arab Film Festival and the "Silver Horizon Award" at the Hollywood Arab Film Festival.
James Chehab is YAZAN’s and the Network for Cultural Outreach’s technical director. He has toured extensively locally and internationally with challenging projects, many of which involved adapting works to diverse and unusual venues.
He is technical director of the play "Jogging" by Hanane Hajj Ali on its world tour (Washington D.C. Kennedy Center, Singapore Esplanade, Germany, France, Morocco, Jordan, Sweden, Spain, United Kingdom, Canada, United State, Switzerland ... ). He also works as technical director for YARAQA and many art exhibitions.

James works as cinematographer for short movies and corporate films (check showreel), and teaches editing and coloring at the Saint Joseph University in Beirut. He’s also a film photographer, medium format mainly.
